Patients who are greatly influenced by their emotions, like anxiety or fear, for instance can be deemed to not having the capacity for decision-making. Patients who are in the state of unconscious cannot take decisions on their own. Therefore, outside parties must provide consent for treatment instead.

The risks and advantages associated with this method of treatment
